Partner Code 128979 for AvaTrade: What You Actually Get

People message me about partner codes all the time. Same question every time: can you get free trades or lower spreads?

Short answer: no. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. That's the cost. A partner code won't affect it.

The code 128979 activates the bonus program. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. That's all it does.

How much bonus do you receive?

A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.

$2,000 gets you $400.

Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.

Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. Most people won't hit that.

UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Goes to £11,200 at the top.

Minimum to open an account is $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.

Where to enter the code

During registration. Once you've filled in your phone number, you'll see small text reading "Have a Partner Code?". Click it. A text box appears. Type **128979**.

People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.

If you see an error, it's fine. Go ahead and register anyway. Message your account manager before you deposit. Tell them you want 128979 applied. They do this manually all the time.

There's a catch with the bonus

There's a volume requirement.

Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Takes a while if you trade small. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.

Your deposit is yours. Take it out anytime. Only the bonus has the restriction.

Worth mentioning: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. Allows for slightly larger trades. Newer traders benefit from that extra cushion.
